One of the most amazing things about living in London is that you can live here for your entire life, yet still keep discovering new places. A few years ago, I accidentally discovered the Pergola and Hill Garden on Hampstead Heath when I was out for a walk one day. It was built in the early Twentieth Century and has a “secret garden” feel about the place – very tranquil and calm – and I’ve met so many Londoners who didn’t know of it. There’s an entrance off North End Way, near Inverforth Close.
The nearest public toilets are in Golders Hill Park, and the famous Old Bull & Bush pub is also close by.
I’ve found some photos online, taken by someone who’s clearly a much better photographer than I am. In the meantime, here’s some modest offerings from my phone camera.
